The day before the winter solstice, the bees became frenetic. I could hear them buzzing from the next room. I went and observed and I was unable to detect what could possibly be causing the disruption. Is the winter solstice really that exciting an event for a colony of bees? Well, as it turns out, no. A week later:
Wax Moth poop! I still cannot detect any sign of the wax moth other than the poop but I have no idea what is happening between the frames. I’m afraid this does not bode well for the bees. Wax moth preferentially destroy brood comb and there is not that much brood in the hive. Nothing to do but watch and wait.
