We installed our Q3 nurse hives today:

In Liz’s medium queen castle: 1 frame of 50% capped brood, 1 frame of 20% open brood, some pollen, nectar and one frame with nectar honey. Shook in extra bees from Liz’s california queen hive and at Krz’s place from the long top bar hive. Very full of bees!

In Krz’s deep nuc: 1 frame of comb, 1 frame with nectar/honey, 1 frame with mostly capped brood, one frame with misc from Todd (left over from his abandoned nuc). Lots of bees, still buzzing late in the day.

Each hive was given a quart of 1:1 sugar water in a top feeder jar. Additional boxes were added to accommodate the jar. Bottoms are screened.
