Day two (june 21, 2014): preparing the two nurse nucs
0830 at Liz’s house (Krz need to pick up eyeglasses at 0800 first): putting medium frames and nurse bees in one nuc. Waiting closing nuc off. Going over to Krz yard.
Meeting Mel and Todd, preparing another nuc with deep frames from Krz hives.
Setting hives up in the yard. Placing frame with cups in one hive to get the bee smell. Putting a jar with 1:1 syrope on the hives for feed now that the nectar flow is low.
Looking through other hives for potential frames with eggs. Need 2.
Day 3 (june 22, 2014)
1500. Taking frames with eggs out and grafting 24 cups. 12 for Bar frame. 12 to push into a brood frame.
Dinner: I will make a main dish (vegetarian) with rice. Can you bring a vegetable/desert?
So you wait for me to leave town to make dinner?
I still disagree with Kristien’s count. If we are grafting on Sunday, I believe that to be at least day 4 and for perhaps some of the grafted larva, day 5.
